Introducing... Felicity Feeney

What song would best describe you?

I like to think of myself as an outgoing person so my song would be ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.

What is your favourite inspirational quote?

"People buy from people" – this is inspiration to me because no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Family and friends are very important to me.  Any spare time I have I put into my love of upcycling furniture; making old things new again.  I also enjoy dance which has been a passion since I was very young.

What are your career goals?

Having come from a strong family background of being self employed, my goal is to follow in this tradition owning my own company by the time I’m 23.  My long term goal is to be financially secure by the time I’m 50 for a long retirement!

What challenges do you face on a daily basis?

On a personal and professional note, my main daily challenge is a frustration when something’s taking longer to finish that it should; I enjoy seeing a task successfully completed on time and within budget.

Can you tell us what is your most favourite aspect of your role?

My role encompasses many different areas, but overall my favourite aspect has got to be the relationships I build with clients and through networking. These relationships are built on trust and mutual respect and, once built they are easy to nurture and is very fulfilling.

What has been your greatest career milestone to date?

At Essential Marketer we take part in a referral organisation called Business Network International (BNI).  After only being a member for 6 months I was asked to launch a new Chapter, making myself one of the youngest BNI Launch Director Consultants in the UK and Ireland.

Who has been your inspiration both personally and professionally?

Both personally and professionally, it has to be my parents, but both for different reasons.  Coming from professional backgrounds, both parents have inspired me and given me the confidence I need to succeed.

What would you like to achieve in the future?

I made the decision to start work at 18 rather than go to university.  I have always wanted to follow in my parents’ footsteps and go into business.  My future goal is as it always has been – to be a successful independent business woman.

What advice or tips of positivity would you like to share with others?

It’s got to be getting the right work life balance.  I know it’s a cliché, but it’s so true and I intend to get the balance right.  It’s about wanting to work to live not live to work.
