What song would best describe you?
Fix Up, Look Sharp – Dizzee Rascal
What is your favourite inspirational quote?
"The way to perfection is through a series of disgusts." It stops me from getting complacent, and encourages me to always strive to be better.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a writer by trade. I took a Creative Writing MA, and I write short and long fiction as well as blog posts. I love to exercise, with basketball being my favourite sport to play, and I try my best to eat healthily (with moderate success).
What are your career goals? To help JC Social Media continue to grow. We’ve grown incredibly quickly since I joined, and recently moved into a much larger office. With my help we can solidify our reputation as the best social media company in Birmingham, then the UK, then the world!
What challenges do you face on a daily basis?
I work in an incredibly fast-moving industry. What I learned six months ago might no longer be relevant. I have to keep up with all the latest developments in social media, and adapt immediately to ensure that my clients get the service they deserve.
Can you tell us what is your most favourite aspect of your role?
The variety. My clients work in such a broad range of industries that it’s impossible to get bored! In my time here I’ve worked with restaurants, hotels, recruitment consultancies, property agents and automotive companies, to name but a few.
What has been your greatest career milestone to date?
It has to be my greatest success with a client. Through various social media methods I managed to get a restaurant into the top 5 restaurants in Birmingham, out of 1,686. This did wonders for their reputation, and they now welcome over 100 more diners per week than they did previously.
Who has been your inspiration both personally and professionally?
My dad personally, for his selflessness and incredible work ethic. Jodie Cook professionally, again for her work ethic, and for her unmatched drive and passion for what she does. They’re both extremely positive, and they both believe in the people they’re close to.
What would you like to achieve in the future?
To stay at JC Social Media as we continue to grow, and to become a leading expert in my field. Also to publish a novel, and then maybe a few more after that.
What advice or tips of positivity would you like to share with others?
Find out what makes you happy, because it might not be the same as what’s supposed to make you happy. Do more of those things that make you happy. If something makes you unhappy, change it or cut it out entirely. Being unhappy is boring, and a waste of precious time.
